THE SERIES 62 SEDAN DE VILLE

Cadillacs, especially the Series 62 line, were growing ever-larger in the mid-1950s. For 1957, Cadillac introduced a new, stiffer X-frame without side rails to replace the earlier perimeter frame design. This allowed a lower body profile and more chassis rigidity. Cadillac offered an unprecedented nine distinct models in the Series 62 line. The Sedan DeVille was eight inches longer than other standard models, exceeded in size only by the Eldorado Biarritz and Coupe Seville. The hardtop sedan, with seating for six adults, was very luxurious, loaded with every conceivable comfort and convenience feature with power-assisted everything, and that was borne out by its factory base price of $4713. Series 62 Cadillacs were powered by a 365 cubic inch V8 fed by a large Carter four-barrel carburetor. The transmission was a smooth four-speed GM Hydramatic transmission. The interiors were very plush, with leather and fabric-trimmed seating and thick carpets underfoot. About 32,000 of these were built for the 1957 model year.

THE MOTORCAR OFFERED

Here is a mid-century Cadillac hardtop sedan is beautiful driver condition, and is believed to be partially restored to its original glory. The red body and white roof display excellent paint and the interior also shows very well. All the brightwork, including the full set of turbine full-wheel covers, is in great condition. The odometer indicates just under 20,000 miles driven, but it is unknown if this is the actual total.

This is a fine example of a classic high-end Cadillac that will attract attention wherever it appears.
This vehicle is titled under body no. FW21947.
