Ce rare et iconique Microbus De Luxe " Samba " et ses 23 fenêtres fut vendu neuf en France en août 1957 comme en atteste le certificat délivré par Volkswagen. Ce Combi dans un très bel état de conservation séjourna dès 1959 à Madrid, et n'a depuis plus jamais quitté les terres chaudes de l'Espagne. Il ne fut que peu utilisé dans le passé, notamment stocké pendant des années dans une concession de la marque. Autre atout, celui-ci a conservé ses caractéristiques originales telles que son moteur 1 192 cm3, son installation électrique 6 volts, ses indicateurs de direction de type "flèches" qui disparaitront avec les versions ultérieures. Sa livrée bicolore combine une robe de couleur rouge " cire à cacheter " à un toit marron et un intérieur marron conforme à ses spécifications d'origine. L'intérieur, les garnitures et autres éléments d'accastillage présentent bien, en phase avec la patine du véhicule. L'actuel propriétaire, en fit l'acquisition en 2005, séduit par son état de préservation. Selon lui et le dossier qui l'accompagne, ce Combi n'aurait connu que quatre propriétaires depuis 1985, tous soucieux de le conserver avec cette belle patine et dans sa configuration originelle. Ce dernier s'est notamment assuré de maintenir le bon fonctionnement mécanique en le faisant rouler régulièrement.
Il s'agit ici d'une version particulièrement rare et recherchée de ce véhicule figurant désormais au rang d'icône. Son habitacle particulièrement lumineux grâce à ses 23 fenêtres et son grand toit ouvrant sont une véritable invitation à l'évasion permise à neuf passagers. This rare and iconic luxury "Samba" 23 windows microbus was sold new in France in 1957, as stated in its certificate delivered by Volkswagen. This beautiful and original combi remained in Madrid as early as 1959 and has never left Spain since then. It has barely been used in the past and was stored at one of the brand's dealerships for years. Another asset this vehicle has retained is its original features, such as its 1,192cc engine, its 6 volts electrical settings and "arrows" direction indicators which will disappear with later versions. Its two-tone livery is combined with a red "sealing wax" bodywork with a brown rooftop and a brown interior which meets its original specifications. The interior, trim and other fittings are well presented and in line with the vehicle's patina. Seduced by its original condition, the current owner acquired it in 2005. According to him and documents included, this microbus has only known four owners since 1985, all dedicated to keeping it in this beautiful patina and its original setting. The current proprietor always made sure that it was mechanically sound by taking it on the road regularly.
