THE FORD 651 WORKMATSER UTILITY TRACTOR

Ford, well-known for its long-lived gasoline tractor engines, began manufacturing Diesel tractors in 1961 at its Highland Park, Michigan factory. The 651 Powermaster's four-cylinder, 8-valve, normally-aspirated Diesel engine developed a strong 48 horsepower, sent to the rear axle via a 254mm dry-plate clutch to an unsynchronized five-speed transmission. The 651 Diesel was a popular model, and could be fitted with a wide range of agricultural and utilitarian attachments.

THE TRACTOR OFFERED

Here is a very desirable Ford two-wheel drive tractor that would be ideal for small farm use and general utility work. The consignor states that this tractor, which was built between 1957 and 1961, was completely rebuilt from the ground up by an enthusiast several years ago, was stored afterward, and has not been operated since. Its comprehensive instrument panel, which houses a combination hour-meter, tachometer, and speedometer in one unit, plus gauges for fuel, oil pressure, and water temperature, indicates that the engine has been run for only seven hours since its overhaul. The red and cream paint scheme is immaculate, and it is shod with new tires, sized 13.6 x 28 (BFG Power Gripper) in the rear, and "Triple-Rib HD" Goodyears in size 6.50 x 16 in front. There are chromed stacks for the air intake and exhaust systems, a reupholstered driver's seat in red vinyl with a Ford logo, and dual headlights. Because it has been parked without use for several years, it may require some re-commissioning prior to operation.
Sold on a Bill Of Sale.
