[ translate ]

Superb presentation
Rare and exclusive
timelessly graceful lines

Chassis N° AR00121*381006
Engine N° AR00121*01084*
French registration

At the end of the 1950s amateur drivers wanted something a bit better than the Giulietta Sprint and so Alfa Romeo came up with the Sprint Speciale, with its bold ‘aerodynamic' body styled by Bertone's Franco Scaglione. With its low Cd and the Giulietta Sprint Veloce engine it was good for close on 200km/h (124mph).
The SS inherited the changes the rest of the range underwent and so in 1963 was given the Giulia's 1570cc engine, offering more torque and an easier performance.
Production was always limited, and just 1366 of the Sprint Speciale were made in total.
Acquired by its current owner in 2005, as a sound and complete vehicle, the featured Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint Speciale was fully restored between November 2005 and October 2007. The bodywork was dismantled and corroded metal cut out and replaced, before the car - originally red - was repainted in Bleu Céleste, one of the most emblematic shades used at the time by Alfa Romeo. Almost 15 years later, and after covering 20,000km (12,500 miles) participating in international and local touring rallies, the car is as beautiful as ever - proof of the quality of the work carried out.
The power unit is still the original, but has been lightly tuned. Without compromising drivability, it now has better acceleration and a more exciting engine note. It suffices to lift the bonnet to appreciate the most beautiful twin-cam in the world: with its Weber 40 DCOEs on short trumpets and its four-into-one manifold, this is an engine that really ‘sings'. The cockpit is every bit as fine, having been re-trimmed in leather and Alcantara. As the cherry on the cake, the car will go to its new proprietor with its restoration album and its period owner's handbook. This is a beautiful example of one of the most desirable and elegant versions of the Giulia, mixing as it does style, sportiness and exclusivity.
