The obverse depicts President John F. Kennedy; the reverse features a heraldic eagle holding a shield, olive branch and arrows, surrounded by 50 stars. This was the only year in which regular Kennedy half dollars were struck in .900 silver. .900 silver; standard weight: 12.5 g, containing approximately 11.25 g of pure silver; diameter: 30.6 mm (1.20 in); thickness: 2.15 mm (0.08 in); reeded edge; KM#202. Circulated condition, with considerable wear, scratches and contact marks, staining and reddish toning. An additional A-shaped mark appears near the date. The mint mark cannot be clearly determined from the photographs. Not professionally graded or tested.
