Cette jolie Mini fut livrée neuve en Angleterre, par la concession Frazer d'Aberdeen et immatriculée le 14 juillet 1966 selon les informations du British Motor Industry Heritage. Initialement en conduite à droite, elle fut convertie en conduite à gauche et connu une série de modifications destinées à la préparer à rouler en rallyes, comme son moteur de 1275 cm3 qui fut réalésé à 1293 cm3. Elle a conservé sa livrée d'origine associant un carrosserie bleu Island à un toit blanc. C'est en 2014 qu'elle entre dans notre collection acquise dans une vente aux enchères en France et alors à restaurer. Une remise à niveau va alors commencer réalisée durant l'année 2016 par Konig, une firme spécialisée installée à Newport Pagnell. Les travaux d'un montant de près de 21 000 £ ont été conséquents. La voiture a déjà été entièrement démontée, vérifiée et remise en état avant d'être repeinte. Parmi les multiples travaux signalons la réfection de la sellerie, le contrôle des instruments de bord, de la partie électricité, du réservoir d'essence et de la jauge. Le moteur et le carburateur Weber ont aussi été contrôlés pour conjuguer performances et fiabilité. La liste des travaux figure au dossier dans la facture détaillée avec les autres documents d'historique. Voilà une sympathique petite bombe, icone s'il en est, au look ravageur et aux performances toujours surprenantes.

This gorgeous Mini was delivered new in England by the Frazer dealership in Aberdeen and was registered on 14 July 1966, according to the British Motor Industry Heritage. It was initially a right-hand drive but was converted as a left-hand drive and went through a series of modifications intended to prepare it for rally racing, such as its 1,275cc engine which was rebored to 1,293cc. It has retained its original livery, an island blue bodywork with a white roof. It was acquired by our collector in 2014 at an auction in France, ready to be restored. Upgrade work will then be carried out in 2016 by Konig, a specialist company based in Newport Pagnell. The works done were substantial, amounting to almost £21,000. The car was completely stripped down, checked and repaired before it was repainted. Among these numerous works, it's worth pointing out the repair of the upholstery, the control of onboard instruments, the electric part, the fuel tank and the gauge. The engine and the Weber carburettor have also been checked to optimise performance and reliability. The list of works is detailed in the invoice present in the folder, along with other historical documents. Here is an attractive iconic bombshell with a jaw dropping look and performance which keeps surprising us all.
