Few classic motorcycles are more famous than the Triumph Bonneville. The T120 was introduced for the 1959 model year, primarily intended for the US market. Legendary Triumph designer Edward Turner grasped the demand for bigger engines and faster motorcycles in the US and built on the already-successful T110 model. In fact, the Bonneville name was inspired by Johnny Allen’s 193 mph record run on a streamlined T110 named the “Texas Ceegar” in 1955 at the Bonneville Salt Flats. The first-year Bonneville T120, named for its intended top speed, was only offered in a unique Tangerine and Pearl Grey paint scheme and became Triumph’s most successful model ever.

This impressive 1966 example presents in stunning condition and was acquired by the consignor from a large collection of pristine motorcycles. After his acquisition, the consignor had service work performed, including the replacement of various gaskets and the installation of an epoxy lining inside the fuel tank. Finished in white with orange stripes, this is a gorgeous example of one of the world’s most important motorcycles and would be a fine addition to any distinguished collection of British bikes.
