1967 Alfa Romeo Giulia Super Chassis no. AR 859345 Engine no. AR 00526 47644
1,570cc DOHC Inline 4-Cylinder Engine2 Weber Twin-choke Carburetors98bhp at 5,800rpm5-Speed Manual Transmission Independent Front Suspension - De Dion Rear Axle4-Wheel Power Disc Brakes*Beautiful restoration performed by the specialists at Santo's Italian Car Service*Desirable Alfa Romeo sports saloon, with ample twin-cam power*Factory equipped with double Weber carburetors, 5-speed gearbox and disc brakes*Surely one of the best restored and finest examples available anywhereTHE ALFA ROMEO GIULIA'Few cars can rival the 1600 Alfa for sheer driving enjoyment, and the keen driver devoting his full attention to driving it will be amply rewarded.' - Car & Driver.Introduced in 1962 and outwardly almost indistinguishable from the preceding 1.3-litre Giulietta, the Giulia boasted a more powerful and much less fussy 1,570cc engine in addition to welcome improvements to the previously feeble heating arrangements. Despite their boxy, unitary construction body, the Giulietta and Giulia were paragons of aerodynamic efficiency, and like all Alfa Romeos possessed a distinctly sporting nature, the 92bhp produced by its classic, twin-cam, four-cylinder engine making the Giulia TI version a genuine 100mph (160km/h) car. Under the skin the Giulia featured a five-speed manual gearbox, independent front suspension, coil-sprung live rear axle, and - apart from early cars - disc brakes all round. Introduced in 1965, the more powerful Super improved on the TI's specification, boasting twin Weber carburetors, a floor-mounted gearshift, and a host of detail changes including the distinctive badge that gives the model its 'Bollo d'Oro' sobriquet. THE MOTORCAR OFFEREDFinished in elegant 'Bianco Spino' white and trimmed in a black vinyl interior with neatly contrasting red carpet upholstery, this Giulia Super has been comprehensively restored by the renowned Italian car specialists at Santo's Italian Car Service in Northridge, CA. Both mechanical and cosmetic aspects of the Alfa was attended to by Santo's, and the result is very impressive indeed, with stunning paint quality, a neat and tight interior with the wood-paneled dashboard in stunning shape with beautifully restored Veglia gauges in place, and clean engine compartment out front. The car performed very well on a recent test drive and runs on appropriate fresh Pirelli Centurato CN36 tires. A better restored Giulia Super will be hard to find.
