1967 GIBSON TRINI LOPEZ ELECTRIC GUITAR

[ translate ]

Please search WESTPORT AUCTION on YouTube to view our channel and see a video preview of this guitar being played. In the 1960’s, Gibson expanded their collection of larger-sized hollowbodied guitars with a series of signature artist models. This 1967 Gibson Trini Lopez is the result of Gibson’s design collaboration with then-popular Texan singer, Trini Lopez. The Trini Lopez model was released in 1964 and featured two versions: standard and deluxe. This more common version, the standard, was based off of Gibson’s ES-335 but incorporates more stylized components from Lopez’s influence, particularly the diamond motif used in the fret inlays, soundhole shape, and on the trapeze tailpiece. The model is crafted with a maple body, U-shaped mahogany neck, and ebony fingerboards, and is known for its excellent playability. This particular model is in cherry finish. The Trini Lopez model has reveled in recent increased popularity due to David Grohl of the Foo Fighters’ own guitar as well as his reliance on the model for his own signature Gibson. All original. Unfaded cherry finish. Clean example. Original hard-shell case. Excellent used condition. One pickup may need adjustment.
