1968 Pontiac GTO W/Factory Air, Power Steering & Brakes, Build sheet, Protect-O-plate Rust free, New vehicle warranty book, Owner's manual, Floor shift, Automatic with console, Vinyl top, Styled 18 inch wheels, Rebuilt Transmission, Newley Installed Disk Brakes, Power steering and power brakes, factory upgraded suspension. Lime Green bucket seats. The upholstery is in beautiful condition and the car looks as good as it did brand new. The Pontiac GTO, in debuted in 1964 and continued until 1974. John Zachary DeLorean, best known for the Delorean automobiles, was the individual who got the ball rolling on the development of the legendary GTO. The vehicle was very successful because it was able to capitalize on a segment of the market that had not been fully tapped into. Most of the muscle cars during this time were full-size cars and had large engines, but due to the weight, were usually slow to accelerate and difficult to reach top speeds. The name GTO comes from Ferrari. It means Gran Turismo Omolgato. In 1968, the wheelbase was expanded to 112 inches and now sat atop General Motors split wheelbase A-body. Major styling changes occurred. A rubber bumper labeled the Endura, adorned the front of the car. Hidden headlights were optional equipment. The engine choices remained the same but the horsepower and torque were increased. This is one of the nicest condition 68' GTO's out house has ever seen, with no rust.
