Sortie d'usine en décembre 1969, cette Type E Roadster a été vendue neuve aux USA. Elle a été achetée par son actuel propriétaire dans une vente Artcurial en 2001. Elle portait déjà son élégante robe indigo, avec intérieur noir, tandis que la mécanique était dotée d'une tubulure d'admission Lynx permettant le montage de trois carburateurs Weber 45 DCOE. Cette configuration confère à la voiture un comportement plus sportif que les SU d'origine.
Ayant peu roulé ces dernières années, son propriétaire l'a confiée en avril 2019 au réputé Garage SPR, spécialiste Jaguar. Elle a bénéficié de nombreux travaux incluant la mise à neuf de l'allumage, le remplacement de l'embrayage, du joint spi avant de vilebrequin et de celui du carter inférieur. La ligne d'échappement a été changée, la pompe à essence est neuve, tout comme les rotules supérieures et inférieures ou encore le joint spi de nez de pont. Outre le remplacement de tous les fluides, les pneus ont été remplacés et le train avant réglé. Le détail des travaux, dont le montant dépasse 16 000€, figure sur les factures jointes au dossier. Sain et prêt à prendre la route, ce beau roadster n'attend qu'un nouveau propriétaire à qui faire profiter de son élégance et de sa noble mécanique.

Manufactured in December 1969, this E-Type Roadster was sold new in the USA. It was purchased by its current owner in an Artcurial sale in 2001. It was already having its elegant indigo bodywork with black interior, whilst the engine was fitted with a Lynx intake manifold which enabled the mounting of three Weber 45 DCOE carburettors. This layout gives the car a sportier behaviour than the original SU.
Not having been driven much in recent years, its current owner entrusted the car to the reputable Jaguar specialist Garage SPR in April 2019. It benefited from a great deal of work including the refurbishment of the ignition, replacement of the clutch, the crankshaft's front lip seal and the lower crankcase seal. The exhaust system has been changed, the fuel pump is new, as are the upper and lower ball joints and the nose pad's lip seal. All fluids and the tyres were replaced and front suspension adjusted. Exceeding the amount of €16,000, details of the work done are stated on invoices included in the documentation. Sound and ready for the road, this beautiful roadster is waiting for a new owner eager to enjoy its elegance and precious mechanics.
