1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302 Fastback 4 Speed

[ translate ]

No Reserve. 302/290 HP. Well Documented. No expense was spared in the rotisserie restoration of this 1970 Boss 302 Mustang, one of 7,014 built by Ford to legalize the melding of the Windsor short-block with large-port Cleveland-heads for Trans-Am racing. Painted in two-stage Bright Yellow with the correct blackout hood and stripes, the competition-inspired Mustang is equipped with its original 290 HP Boss 302 engine, close-ratio 4-speed transmission and 9-inch rear axle with 3.50:1 differential. The SportsRoof is loaded with documentation, including the original build sheet, three shipping invoices, the window sticker, a Ford Motor Company letter of authenticity and a Marti Report that documents its original sale at Maurice W. Andrews Inc. in Lima, New York. Ford's Boss 302 Mustang comes with a legitimate racing pedigree, thanks to its Trans-Am legacy as the 1970 Trans-Am champion, winning six of the season's 11 races with drivers Parnelli Jones and George Follmer. The street version served two purposes - to homologate the unique, solid-lifter small-block for competition and to provide Ford dealers with a high-performance Mustang to compete against Chevrolet's Camaro Z28. The Boss 302 came from the factory with Ford's best performance equipment, including a Hurst-shifted 4-speed, 9-inch rear end with a nodular iron case and 31-spline axles, a front chin spoiler, color-keyed racing mirrors, power front disc brakes, Competition Suspension with staggered rear shocks and 15-inch wheels. Ford-designer Larry Shinoda penned the wild graphics, which included a matte-black hood stripe, reflective side stripes and a blacked-out trunk lid and rear panel. This yellow Boss 302 is optioned with the rear spoiler, Deluxe interior with wood-grain trim, an AM/FM radio and Magnum 500 wheels with new Firestone Wide Oval tires. The Boss 302 also comes with the aforementioned documentation, restoration receipts and prior ownership history. MILEAGE: 97182. VIN: 0F02G206371.
