Prenant la suite de la mythique Falcone dont la production s'est arrêtée en 1967, la Moto Guzzi Nuovo Falcone apparaît en 1969 dans une version militaire. Le monocylindre horizontal si caractéristique conserve les côtes de l'ancienne version mais reçoit une culasse et un cylindre en aluminium (ce dernier est chemisé fonte). Alimenté par un carburateur Dell'Orto VHB29A, ce moteur développe la puissance tranquille de 26 ch à 4 800 tr/mn. La Nuovo Falcone possède un démarreur électrique par Dynastart et une installation électrique en 12 V. Cette machine simple atteint les 127 km/h, tient bien la route et freine correctement. Produite à 13 400 exemplaires pour l'armée et les administrations italiennes, la Nuovo Falcone sera déclinée en diverses versions civiles dont une très aventureuse " Sahara " jusqu'en 1976.

Following on from the legendary Falcone whose production stopped in 1967, the Moto Guzzi Nuovo Falcone was launched in 1969, in a military version. The distinctive horizontal single cylinder retained the ribs of the older version but received an aluminum cylinder head and cylinder (the latter was cast iron lined). Powered by a Dell'Orto VHB29A carburetor, this engine developed a refined power of 26bhp at 4800 rpm. The Nuovo Falcone had an electric start, by Dynastart, and a 12V electrical installation. This simple machine reached a top speed of 127 km/h, held the road well and braked decently well too. With production of 13,400 for the Italian army and administrations, the Nuovo Falcone was available in various civilian versions, including the one very adventurous "Sahara," until 1976.
