1971 Chevrolet K5 Blazer 2WD
No Reserve. Chevrolet built only 1,277 two-wheel-drive Blazers for 1971, against 17,220 four-wheel-drive examples, and this St. Louis-assembled truck's VIN confirms it is one of those scarce 2WD models. Wearing the K/5 Blazer fender script Chevrolet applied regardless of drivetrain, the 2WD Blazer traded the 4x4's solid front axle and leaf springs for coil-spring independent front suspension and a coil-sprung trailing-arm rear, giving it a more car-like ride that suits this lowered, street-focused build perfectly. Under the hood, a 350 cubic-inch small-block V8 is fortified with polished Air Flow Research aluminum cylinder heads, a Holley four-barrel on a polished Edelbrock intake and coated tube headers feeding dual exhaust, while polished valve covers, a chrome alternator, a polished billet serpentine pulley system and a color-matched air cleaner dress the engine bay. A Turbo 350 automatic, power steering and power front disc brakes (new for 1971) make it a pleasure to drive. The orange-and-white two-tone paint is accented by bright trim and polished aluminum Rally-style wheels with chrome center caps, and it is presented topless for true open-air cruising. The black interior features front bucket seats, a rear bench, a wood-rim steering wheel and Mr. Horsepower floor mats, while the original-style dash retains the factory-style tachometer cluster, joined by an auxiliary oil-pressure gauge and a modern stereo. A rare, head-turning first-generation Blazer with genuine scarcity behind its good looks. VIN: CE181S659819. Miles 3956.
