With the large cross-slatted radiator grille – described by Motor Sport magazine as "a decorative birdcage" – flared wheel arches accommodating wider track and bigger tires, plus V12 nomenclature adorning the tail, these Series III cars continued all the American Federal Regulations features of the preceding Series II models while also adopting uprated brakes and power steering as standard. From the new Series launch in 1971 to the end of production in 1975, some 15,200 were manufactured. THE MOTORCAR OFFEREDCompleted in January of 1973, the sensational example of Jaguar's legendary V12 E-Type offered here left the Browns Lane Jaguar Works configured as a left-hand drive car, destined for the US. It was finished as it appears today, in the stunning, period-appropriate Sand Green exterior color, and trimmed in neatly contrasting Olive-colored leather interior. The E-Type Roadster is known to have been cared for by one single owner for nearly half a century, and today presents in highly original and superbly preserved condition inside and out. Just over 29,000 miles was recorded on the odometer at the time of cataloging, a figure believed to be original looking at the preserved condition throughout. Original lights and lenses remain intact, as does chrome and brightwork. The car is fitted with air conditioning, and a black convertible soft top is available on a rainy day. With its stunning Sand Green over Olive color-combination, this end-of-the-run E-Type looks delightfully 1970s indeed and offers silky-smooth V12 open-top cruising in style.
