Finished in Blue with Black leather upholstery and the unusual option of a factory-fitted sunroof, chassis SRH15394 has led something of a charmed existence. Passing to Brian Westen of the Surrey Demolition Company in May 1982 and re-registered as ‘BW 100’, the Rolls-Royce was pressed into everyday service and maintained accordingly by Michael Walker’s Garage of Woking. The Silver Shadow’s next two custodians, Messrs Adams and Upton, both called upon the services of approved Rolls-Royce & Bentley Specialists Association Member, Overton Vehicle Overhauls to improve the luxury saloon. Treated to a bare metal bodywork restoration in 1988, the Rolls-Royce had its rubbers replaced and woodwork refinished at the same time. Completed within the last 15,000 miles or so, the Silver Shadow also benefited from thorough overhauls of its brake and suspension systems. Acquired by its last registered keeper in 2001, ‘SPD 637L’ underwent rust-proofing the following year but has otherwise been garaged for most of the past two decades (covering less than 1,000 miles since 2006). Inspected by Brain Page MIMI of Classic Assessments last year, he concluded thus: ‘All in all, a nice example of its type’ and valued the car in the region of £16,750 - £18,500. Felt by the seller to drive ‘very well’ following some light recommissioning, this delightful Silver Shadow passed its last MOT on 13th August 2021 with ‘no advisories’.
