1973 VW COCCINELLE 1303

[ translate ]

Time-defying model
Excellent unrestored condition
Car delivered in French market, comes with full history

Chassis n°1342000860
Registration: French papers

It is no longer necessary to present the Beetle. It was the first car made by Volkswagen, whose name means “people's car”. Designed by the Austrian engineer Ferdinand Porsche, the model would be produced from 1938 until 2003.
Her long career and world-wide distribution are unique in the statistics of car manufacturing. In 1972, with 21 529 464 cars sold worldwide, the Beetle broke the previous record for a single model, held by the Ford T. Originally fitted with a 985 cc engine with an output of 25 bhp, the Beetle would evolve with successive, always prudent, increases of engine capacity, finally reaching 1584 cc and 50 bhp in 1972.
The model which we are presenting is a 1303 version, first delivered to Madame Leprat in August 1973 by the VW concessionaire Unimotor in Bagneux. Initially subject to a leasing agreement, the car finally became Mme Leprat's property in April 1977. The registration number was then changed to 4313 DG 92 and this is engraved on the windows and inscribed in the central register of marked cars.
The history of this car is totally clear as it comes with all documents including the leasing contract and final purchase deed, still in their original envelopes, the certificate of provisional registration, the homologation certificate with its red band, as well as all the maintenance manuals and service records, stamped by the concessionaire Volkswagen Unimotor in Bagneux. Mme Leprat carefully kept all the maintenance invoices spanning 30 years and these appear to back up the current odometer reading of 45 894 km. Everything is original.
The moosmetallic paintwork is very well preserved and the interior is impeccable.
Our extended road test confirmed that all aspects of the car function correctly. It is virtually impossible today to find one of these cars in such excellent, unmolested condition and with such a full history file.
