1974 Alfa Romeo GTV 2000 Coachwork by Design by Giorgetto Giugiaro Chassis no. AR3024388 Engine no. AK0150*10877*
1962cc DOHC Inline-4 Cylinder EngineSPICA Mechanical Fuel-Injection131bhp at 5,500rpm5-Speed Manual Transmission4-Wheel Independent Suspension 4-Wheel Disc Brakes* 26k Miles Shown* Highly well-preserved original example * Originally owned by racing driver Manfredo Lippmann* Shown at the Auto Museum in Shanghai and Las Vegas* Stamped original Maintenance Booklet &Service recordsTHE ALFA ROMEO GIULIAFirst introduced in 1962, the early Giulia differed from the outwardly similar 101-Series Giulietta by virtue of its more powerful and much less fussy 1,570cc engine, which continued when the new 105-Series Giulia was introduced later that same year. Despite its boxy, unitary construction body, the newcomer was a paragon of aerodynamic efficiency and possessed a distinctly sporting nature - the 92bhp produced by its classic twin-cam four-cylinder engine - making the Giulia TI a genuine 100mph car. Under the skin the Giulia featured a five-speed manual gearbox, independent front suspension, coil-sprung live rear axle, and - apart from early cars - disc brakes all round, a formula that carried over into the coupe version, the Giulia Sprint GT. Launched in 1963, the Sprint GT was clothed in beautifully balanced four-seater coachwork, penned by Carrozzeria Bertone's Giorgetto Giugiaro but now manufactured at Alfa's new Arese factory. It represented a successful attempt to produce a typically sporting Alfa Coupe for the young family man, a modestly priced four-seater combining the elegance of a Bertone-designed body with the performance of a twin-cam engine. Introduced in 1971, the 2000 GT Veloce (or GTV) was the final version of the classic 105-Series Alfa Romeo. There were no major styling changes made by Bertone, merely a new grille, the body remaining the same as the preceding 1600 and 1750 models. Representing the final enlargement of Alfa's legendary twin-cam four, the 1,962cc engine produced 132bhp, which was delivered to the road via a five-speed gearbox and limited-slip differential. Torquier than its 1750 predecessor, the 2000 GT Veloce was good for a top speed of 120mph. These lovely Italian coupes were purpose-built for spirited, high-revving driving and offer great performance and beautiful Bertone design in an approachable package.THE MOTORCAR OFFEREDBorn in 1974, this Alfa Romeo GTV 2000 was delivered to its first owner in Houston, Texas, a known racing driver named Manfredo Lippmann, who raced for Porsche and Ferrari during the Carrera Panamericana.According to Manfredo, the car was used to tour the US during his honeymoon and then kept preciously with the rest of his car collection in Guatemala. In 2005, the car was finally brought back to the US in Nevada by its second owner, to be displayed at the Imperial Palace Auto Collection and Museum in Las Vegas, then for a short period of time it was sent to and shown at the Shanghai Auto Museum in China. It was then sold in 2010, to its third owner in Canada, to finally come back into the US to Manhattan Beach, California in 2020. The car, presented in its original and stunning color scheme, Navy Blue on Natural interior, is featured with its original 2.0-liter inline-four, paired with a five-speed manual gearbox. It is equipped with Panasport wheels, a limited-slip differential, three-point front seat belts, air conditioning, and a Blaupunkt cassette player. This GTV is offered with a set of factory wheels, Panasport and Cromodora wheels, original window sticker price, manufacturer's literature, extensive service records, Guatemalan documentations, and documentations from the aforementioned museums. It is now showing just 26,000 miles and believed to be original. According to the seller the car has been inspected recently, has been serviced and is ready to be enjoyed.
