2,687cc SOHC Flat 6-Cylinder EngineBosch Fuel Injection175bhp at 5,800rpm5-Speed Manual Transaxle4-Wheel Independent Suspension4-Wheel Disc Brakes*Highly original, matching-numbers example with less than 56,500 miles from new*The 415th of just 528 Carrera examples built for US market*Recent engine rebuild performed by noted Porsche specialist*Offered with receipts, original owner's manuals, tools and jackTHE PORSCHE CARRERAPorsche developed a reputation with their Carrera model early on for their surprising performance from their small displacement rear-engine sports and racing cars. These 'giant killers' could outperform cars with much higher horsepower figures by making light cars with incredible handling. Referencing Porsche's prowess in the Mexican Carrera Panamericana of the 1950s, Porsche reintroduced the title 'Carrera' in 1973 on the iconic Carrera RS 2.7. In 1974, the Carrera model debuted using a similar 2.7-liter engine, flared fenders, bold graphics and the 'whale tail' spoiler, an unmistakable look used until 1988. Just 528 US-market Carrera 2.7 examples were made for the 1974 model-year, hence they have become increasingly collectible due to their iconic looks, excellent performance and high build quality. THE MOTORCAR OFFEREDThis stunning 911 Carrera 2.7 Coupe, completed at Porsche in February of 1974 for the US market, was completed just as it appears today, finished in classic Grand prix White over a Navy/Black interior. The new 911 was delivered through Newport Beach Porsche agency Chick Iverson, Inc, and subsequently serviced and maintained by them. A well-known Southern California car for many years, the 911 is reported to have been looked after by noted SoCal Porsche specialist Andial for decades, while receipts on file totaling more than $22,000 attests to the original matching-numbers engine being rebuild by Porsche specialist Aase Motors of Fullerton, CA in 2017. Today this rare Carrera 2.7 Coupe presents in stunningly well-preserved and highly original condition, with its original interior maintained in lovely state and just 56,248 miles recorded on the odometer at time of cataloging. The original Fuchs wheels are shod on appropriate Pirelli Centurato tires, and the classic black 'Carrera' script adorns the sills while the original 'whale tail' rear spoiler remains in situ. A period Blaupunkt radio is fitted in the cabin along with A/C and coco mats. This matching-numbers Carrera if offered the original owners manuals, jack and tool roll, and presents a great opportunity to acquire a very original example of a desirable and iconic 911 model.
