[ translate ]

Lot details Registration No: TUB 670M Chassis No: 47600597A MOT: April 2025 c.50,005 credible miles on its odometer ‘TUB’ achieved a first prize at the 2018 P6 Club Concours Extensively restored to a high standard Introduced in 1963, the 2000 was the sixth and last of the P Series of Rovers that began with the pre-WW2 12 model. Designed in-house by Spen King, David Bache and Gordon Bashford it bristled with innovation inside and out and was quite rightly the winner of the first ever European Car of the Year Award. Its monocoque shell featured bolt-on panels for ease of repair. Braking was by discs all round and the steering by Marles worm and roller. The fully independent suspension comprised a novel de Dion arrangement at the rear and an equally unique rocker system operating horizontally-mounted coil springs at the front. Following the launch of the TC (twin carburetter) version in 1966, the single carburetter examples were badged as SCs. Presented in the rich hue of ‘Mexico brown,’ this classic Rover gem displays an impressive c.50,005 credible miles on its odometer. Purchased in 2013 by the present owner and since extensively restored to a high standard, including a professinal bare metal respray; ‘TUB’ achieved a first prize at the 2018 P6 Club Concours. With a fresh MOT, the vehicle is in regular use and will be driven to the sale at Buxton. The paperwork file includes the original handbook, restoration invoices, a collection of MOT certificates and evidence of ownership history since 1981. An outstanding opportunity to acquire what must be one of the best P6 Rovers extant. For more information, please contact: Stewart Parker info@handh.co.uk 07836 346875
