En 1973, Jörg Obermoser crée l'écurie éponyme et à bord d'une GRD S73 BMW, termine cinquième de la manche autrichienne du Championnat d'Europe et quatrième de l'épreuve de Croix-en-Ternois. Aux 300 Km du Nürburgring, il arrive septième au classement général et s'adjuge la catégorie 2,5 litres.
C'est en 1974 qu'il crée TOJ et que voit le jour la première voiture portant son nom, la TOJ SS02 extrapolée de la GRD. Avec un 4-cylindres BMW M12/Schnitzer de 1 990 cm3, le modèle participe à la saison 1974 entre les mains principalement d'Obermoser, Dave Walker et Peter Scharmann. C'est bien la voiture de la vente, aux couleurs dorées si célèbres du Team Warsteiner, qui va lui permettre de rentrer dans la compétition cette année-là et de prendre part au Championnat Européen des 2L. avec des courses se déroulant sur tous les plus grands circuits en Europe. Parmi les meilleurs résultats de l'année, Obermoser se classe deuxième à Mainz-Finthen et, après avoir signé le meilleur temps aux essais à l'Avus, il termine cinquième alors que son coéquipier Peter Scharmann prend la troisième place. #2 n'a jamais été gravement accidentée et a régulièrement été maintenue dans un état lui permettant de courir. En 1991, elle est importée en Angleterre où elle va participer à quelques courses de côte entre les mains de Michael Pendlebury. En 2007/8, elle est acquise par John Monson avant d'être vendue à l'actuel propriétaire en 2013. Elle est équipée de la boîte Hewland FT200 conçue pour le sprint et ses réservoirs ont été changés en 2013 suivant la facture d'Atlantic Racing figurant dans l'important dossier de la voiture. Il s'agit de la seule survivante des deux fabriquées, représentante à ce titre, d'un pan important de l'histoire de TOJ.

In 1973, Jörg Obermoser created the team in his name, finishing fifth at the wheel of a GRD S73 BMW in the Austrian round of the European Championship and fourth in the race at Croix-en-Ternois. In the Nürburgring 300 KM, he came home seventh overall winning the 2.5-litre class.
Obermoser founded TOJ in 1974, and the first car appeared that year, the TOJ SS02, extrapolated from the GRD. Powered by a four-cylinder 1 990 cc BMW M12/Schnitzer engine, the model participated in the 1974 season driven mainly by Obermoser, Dave Walker and Peter Scharmann. It is this car that is presented in the sale, in the well-known gold livery of Team Warsteiner who entered it in the competition that year to take part in the European 2-Litre Championship, with races at all the big circuits across Europe. Obermoser achieved some impressive results that year including second place at Mainz-Finthen and, with the quickest time in practice at Avus, he finished fifth while his team-mate Peter Scharmann was third. #2 was never seriously damaged and was maintained in race-ready condition. In 1991, the car was imported into England and took part in various hillclimb events driven by Michael Pendlebury. It was bought by John Monson in 2007/8, before being sold to the present owner in 2013. It is fitted with the Hewland FT200 gearbox designed for sprints and the fuel tanks were changed in 2013, according to the Atlantic Racing invoice included in the comprehensive file that comes with the car. This is the only surviving car of two built, with an important place in the history of TOJ.
