Morgan est sans doute le seul constructeur automobile resté intégralement entre les mains de la même famille depuis l'origine. Les modèles reflètent cette tradition et la Morgan 4/4 a conservé la ligne dessinée dans les années 1930. La fabrication est restée elle aussi traditionnelle, avec sa carrosserie montée sur structure bois, tandis que la technique a évolué progressivement au fil des ans pour accompagner l'augmentation des performances.
L'exemplaire présenté a été vendu neuf en France par les Ets Jacques Savoye, et immatriculé le 3 mars 1975. C'est en 1989 que l'artiste Jean Cortot, fils du célèbre pianiste Alfred Cortot en a fait l'acquisition sur les conseils de son épouse, afin de profiter des jolies routes du Lot. Equipé du moteur Ford Kent 1600 GT fiable et facile d'entretien, ce roadster est en état d'origine. Bien que nous l'ayons redémarré et circulé à son bord après trois ans d'inactivité, il devra bénéficier d'une révision complète et de quelques soins cosmétiques. Il est par conséquent vendu sans contrôle technique. Toujours équipée de son lot de bord, de ses side-screens et de son couvre capote, cette automobile présente le charme désuet des Morgan traditionnelles et apportera le plaisir très actuel d'une conduite sans artifice.

Morgan is probably the only car manufacturer that has fully remained in the hands of the same family right from the outset. Its models reflect this tradition and the Morgan 4/4 has retained the design of the 1930s. Its build has also remained traditional with the bodywork mounted into a wooden frame, while the technical part has gradually evolved in order to increase performance.
The vehicle on offer was sold new in France by Ets Jacques Savoye and registered on 3 March 1975. In 1989 the artist Jean Cortot, son of the famous pianist Alfred Cortot, acquired it on the advice of his wife in order to enjoy the beautiful roads of the Lot region. It is in original condition and is fitted with a reliable and easy-to-maintain Ford Kent 1600 GT engine. Even though we have restarted it and driven it after being inactive for three years, the car will nonetheless require a complete service and some cosmetic care. It is consequently sold without technical inspection (MOT). Still equipped with its tools, side screens and the tonneau cover, this roadster features the old-fashioned charm of traditional Morgan cars and will provide a real feeling of no-nonsense driving pleasure.
