The Honda CB550 was made from 1974 to 1978. It had a four-cylinder 544cc SOHC air-cooled wet sump engine. The first version, the CB550K, was a development of the earlier CB500, and like its predecessor, had four exhaust pipes, four silencers and wire-spoked wheels, a rear drum brake and a front disc brake. Compared to Honda's 1969 dry sump CB750, both the CB500 and the CB550 were much smaller and lighter.
This machine was bought in December 2016 as a project from DK Motorcycles and is now up and running. An MOT was obtained in 2017 and the bike has been stored since. It has been recommissioned for the auction.
