1976-S $1 Clad, Type One, PR70 Deep Cameo PCGS. Type One Bicentennial proof Eisenhower dollars were struck with unusually thick reverse lettering. The Type Two proofs are somewhat more available with slender letters, although each variety is conditionally rare at the unimprovable PR70 Deep Cameo grade. To date, PCGS reports only 29 Type One examples that have achieved the ultimate recognition of modern proof quality. This example is fully struck and displays amazing field-device contrast.
