1981 MINI 1000 AUTOMATIC - History:
Introduced in 1959 and designed by Sir Alec Issigonis, the Mini revolutionized the automotive world with its innovative design featuring a transverse engine, front-wheel drive, and wheels positioned at the four corners of the body. Despite its compact size, it offered remarkable interior space, which quickly made it a worldwide success.
Produced by the British Motor Corporation and later by British Leyland, the Mini became a true British icon over the decades. Available in numerous versions, it excelled both in everyday use and on rally stages, particularly thanks to the famous Mini Coopers.

Description:
The vehicle shown here is a Mini 1000 equipped with an automatic transmission, a relatively uncommon configuration. Powered by the robust 998 cm³ Series A engine, it retains all the charm and simplicity that made the model so successful.
This Mini 1000 features an elegant light blue metallic paint job paired with an original interior of tartan fabric and beige faux leather.
The car appears particularly complete and consistent, retaining its original engine, automatic transmission, period wheels, and all of its exterior trim. The engine compartment is complete, and the vehicle appears to have been stored indoors for many years.
Its overall condition reveals a generally sound car with the usual corrosion spots found on Minis, making it an excellent base for a return to the road or a light restoration.
