1982 Honda CBX-C, 1047cc. Registration number JGH 467X. Frame number SC0607CC402292. Engine number SC03E-2402291.
Sold with the V5C, 3 x keys, receipts and old MOT's.
The Honda CBX sports was manufactured by Honda from 1978 to 1982. With a 1047cc inline six-cylinder engine producing 105 bhp, it was the flagship of the Honda range well-received by the press, but was outsold by its sibling introduced in late 1979, the Honda CB900F. In 1981, Honda repositioned the CBX into the sport touring category with the CBX-B, detuning the engine to 98 bhp and adding Pro-Link monoshock rear suspension, air-adjustable 39 mm front forks, a fairing and optional panniers with a stronger frame to support these additions. The CBX was given ventilated dual front brake discs due to the increased weight. The 1982 model CBX-C model differed little from the 1981 model, having only some changes to paint and trim. Sales continued to be low and these are now extremely rare machines.
JGH has been in long term ownership with our vendor, he bought it in 1995 from Bonanza Trading Post of Kent who had imported it from Rhode Island, USA. The mileage at the time was some 15,000, today it stands at 18,358, this is confirmed by MOT's from its purchase through to 2013. As a serving officer in His Majesties army it had little use although when stationed in Germany it often went into Holland on trips. It has been dry stored for several years and only a move to the South has meant it cannot stay with him. It was fully recommissioned in September 2025 by Fast Bike Serving of Darlington, including stripping and cleaning the carbs and a full mechanical service and check over, new batteries were also fitted.
