1982 Ramos Pinto Vintage Port 1 x 0. 75L

DESCRIPTION
Ramos Pinto was founded in 1880 and for several decades its history has been marked by innovation and respect for tradition. Producing and selecting the best grapes together with systematic knowledge of the terroir, Ramos Pinto is pioneering the launch of New Douro wines in Portugal and all over the world.
Today, Ramos Pinto still keeps its position as a traditional house producing high quality wines. In the quest for excellence, Ramos Pinto is still, to this day, managed as an independent organization, which enables the pursuit of its extraordinary politics of own production and continuous technical and technological research.
Ramos Pinto owns four estates in the Douro. Quinta do Bom Retiro and Quinta da Urtiga, in the heart of the region; Quinta dos Bons Ares and Quinta de Ervamoira in the Upper Douro. Our commitment is to improve our bond with nature and the environment through organic farming and increasing biodiversity, leaving this legacy of culture to future generations.
Welcome to the Ramos Pinto Wine World!

AWARDS/RECOMMENDATIONS
98 Points, Vertde. Vin
90 Points, Falstaff
18. 5 Points, Vinho Grandes Escolhas
17 Points, Jancis Robinson
93 Points, Cellar. Tracker

WINE VARIETIES: Tinta Barroca (70%) & Old Vines (30%) .

VINIFICATION
The grapes are trodden by foot in lagares. Fermentation lasts four to five days, producing an excellent extraction.

TASTING NOTES
A splendid, deep colour typical of this harvest. Highly concentrated and still rising smoothly, it has well-developed blue tones. Dense tears. Discreet, generous, feminine and well characterised by its harmony and advanced maturity, it offers us aromas of violet, plum, chocolate and ripe fruit. Aged and wine-infused wood, a hint of vanilla and plum brandy. A smooth and velvety attack on the palate, the perfect balance between body and acidity. Notes of prune sustained by smooth, mature tannins. Soft and enveloping with a perfect finish.

SERVING
Served after dinner, it pairs well with cheeses from the Serra da Estrela region of Portugal, Stilton, Gorgonzola and other full-fat cheeses. An ideal accompaniment to a strong cigar. Should be opened two hours before serving and decanted. Serve between 17ºC and 18ºC.
