History:
This Mercedes-Benz 500 SL belongs to the famous R107 generation, produced between 1971 and 1989. Today, this model is recognized as one of the brand’s most iconic models. The 500 SL is equipped with a 5.0-liter V8 engine producing 245 chevaux, offering an excellent balance of performance, comfort, and reliability. European versions are considered the rarest and most sought-after.
Our example is one of the few to have been delivered new in France (from a Mercedes dealership in Béziers) and comes with a complete maintenance history, including numerous invoices and its original Mercedes-stamped service booklet. A complete file documents the vehicle’s history from the very beginning, and it is rare to find a car with such a well-documented history dating back to 1987. Its color combination and excellent overall condition make it a rare find on the market.
Condition:
The bodywork presents a beautiful overall appearance and retains the elegant lines characteristic of the R107 series. Bodywork repairs have been performed to maintain a neat appearance and a complete paint job. Please note that this car comes with a wind deflector, a hardtop in the same body color, and its carrying case. The blue alpaca soft top was recently replaced. The interior offers a lovely classic ambiance and remains true to the car’s original spirit.
Mechanically, this car has been serviced by Etoile Collection for many years. The V8 was running properly at the time of the inspection and delivers the typical driving pleasure of this generation of SLs, with a smooth and comfortable ride. The automatic transmission provided smooth gear changes at the time of the inspection.
