THE FERRARI 512 TR
In 1991, Ferrari would evolve the Testarossa into the 512 TR. While sleek lines and the side strakes remained, the Pininfarina bodywork would receive a mild refresh to assimilate the vehicle into the updated lineup. However, most of the development work was spent making the 512 TR perform to the high standards of a top of the line Ferrari. Engine displacement would be kept at 4.9-liters, but it received Nikasil cylinder liners, a new intake system with larger valves, Bosch engine management, and a revised exhaust. Power jumped up to 428 horsepower and overall, the powerband was broadened for better drivability. Ferrari had created a vehicle far more capable than the original, all while maintaining the unforgettable styling.
THE MOTORCAR OFFERED
According the vehicle's Carfax, this fine 512 TR found its first home in the state of Florida. The Ferrari would remain there for thirteen years, accruing just under 15,000 miles before it would make the trip to its next home in Washington. Since then, the vehicle has been cared for by West Coast and Midwest enthusiast, only adding a thousand more miles to the total in five years. Most recently in 2018, the 512 TR received a full major service, including belts, by a marque specialist. The Ferrari has endured in stock condition, short of a Tubi exhaust that was fitted at some point in the vehicles life. Furthermore, within the last seven months the body had a full, glass out, bare metal repaint in the as-delivery Rossa Corsa color.
