1993 & 1994 Wizard Magazine Serialized Sealed & Numbered Trading Card Assortment - 2 Seattle Com-Card Gold Autographed Mike Grell Shaman's Tears Cards With COAs - 23 Total Cards The 1993 Wizard Magazine Image Series 2 set continued the popular hobby-driven run of Wizard trading cards that paired comic book art with glossy, visually engaging presentation. Building on the momentum of Series 1, Image Series 2 showcased a curated selection of characters and artwork from the biggest publishers of the era, including Marvel and DC, reflecting the soaring popularity of comic collecting in the early 1990s. With crisp printing, dynamic poses, and a mix of splash pages and character highlights, Series 2 appealed to both comic fans and card collectors who wanted a premium, gallery-style snapshot of the medium's most memorable figures. The set's collectible appeal was further enhanced by its positioning within Wizard Magazine's broader influence on fan culture at a time when the publication helped define collector trends and values. Following close behind, the 1993–94 Wizard Magazine Image Series 3 expanded the concept with even broader representation and a heightened focus on crossover appeal. Series 3 maintained the glossy, high-impact aesthetic but pushed further into contemporary storylines and emerging characters that were gaining traction in the pages of monthly comics. Featuring an array of both iconic and up-and-coming heroes and villains, the set tapped into the early-90s comic boom, with chase elements and fan-favorite artwork that made it a must-have for readers of the magazine and trading card enthusiasts alike. Together, Image Series 2 and Series 3 encapsulate a pivotal moment in non-sport collecting when comics and trading cards intersected in a big, bold way, marking them as notable early examples of hobby-market cross-promotion.
