1996 FPG French Versions Guardians & Dark Age Feudal Lords - Game Cards, Dice, & Binder - Over 850 Cards. The 1996 FPG Guardians Card Game blends fantasy art and strategic gameplay in a collectible card format that reflects the mid-1990s boom in customizable card games. Featuring richly illustrated characters drawn from the fantasy art tradition, the game emphasizes heroic archetypes, magical powers, and tactical combat mechanics designed for competitive play. Produced by FPG—best known for its artist-focused trading card releases—the game carries a strong visual identity rooted in detailed illustration and dramatic fantasy themes. Today, Guardians is remembered as a niche but visually compelling entry in the era's expanding card game landscape. The 1996 Dark Age Feudal Lords Card Game centers on medieval strategy and territorial conquest, inviting players to assume the role of rival nobles competing for dominance in a feudal setting. Incorporating resource management, alliances, and battlefield conflict, the game reflects the 1990s trend toward deeper, more historically inspired card game mechanics. Its artwork and design lean into medieval heraldry, armor, and courtly intrigue, giving the game a distinctive thematic focus. While produced during an intensely competitive period for collectible card games, Feudal Lords stands as an interesting example of the era's experimentation with genre and strategic complexity.
