A splendid 19th century French patinated and gilt white metal and marble mantle clock with the Paris foundry mark a white enamel dial, Roman numeral hour designations, moon form hands, the case depicts a scholarly cherub sitting on books with paper and pen in hand in deep contemplation beside a compass and astral globe finial, the marble base raised on four bronze toupee feet, chimes on the half hour and hour, keeps great time and would make a charming gift or addition to any fine collection.
