English, 19th century. Carved mahogany Gainsborough or library armchair in the Chinese Chippendale taste, upholstered in a striped Cowtan & Tout animal print fabric, having a blind fretwork, and rising on straight legs with pierced stretcher. Unmarked. Approx. h. 39.25", w. 27.25", d. 30.25".
Condition Report: Minor surface wear; restorations to stretchers and one rear leg; no apparent stains or tears to upholstery frame is structurally sound.
