19TH C., FRENCH TRIPLE DIAL MOONPHASE MANTLE CLOCK

Samuel Marti et Cie (French, active 1863-1890). A rare marble and slate mantle clock featuring a triple dial Roman numeral dial clock, holosteric barometer to lower right and calendar dial to lower left with two subsidiary dials for weekday,calendar day and moon phase status; also with a visible Brocot escapement, visible mercury pendulum window and three areas of malachite inlay. Marked "Samuel Marti et Cie" to movement. Approx: h. 21", w. 20", d. 6.5". Note: SamuelMarti opened shop with Japy Freres and Roux in 1863.
Condition Report: Verso has crack to clocks glass window, several areas of wear including inlay loss, fleabites and residue present. Clock was working at time of cataloging, other dials are untested for accuracy.
