AN OTTOMAN YATAGHAN SWORDOttoman Turkey, late 19th century With a curved single-edged blade, embellished with silver inlay emblem, etched script and engraved decoration, the copper forte decorated with glass beads and engraved geometric motifs, the tang's ridge encrusted with drop-shaped coral to the top and red glass beads to the bottom, the walrus ivory grip plates and large extended 'ears' characteristic of the weapon type, housed in a scabbard of leather over wood, with brass fittings, overall length in scabbard 77cm.This item may require Export or CITES licences in order to leave the UK or the European Union.
