19th C. Chinese Bone Snuff Bottle w/ Thumb Ring

East Asia, China, ca. 1910s. An antique snuff bottle carved from bovine or ungulate bone in the shape of a rattle with a ring attached to the rattle connected to another ring for slipping on one's finger or belt in order to hold. The front and back circular faces of the vessel body are incised with a Shou character, a symbol of longevity and happiness. Fine patina envelops all components. Size: 1.125" W x 2.4" H (2.9 cm x 6.1 cm).
Provenance: private Colorado, USA collection, acquired in 2019 via family descent; ex-private Texas, USA collection, acquired in the 1990s in Asia
