19th C. Chinese Qing Blue on White Vase w/ Floral Motif
East Asia, China, late Qing Dynasty to early Republic Period, ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE. A gorgeous porcelain blue-on-white vase with a piriform body. The walls rise gracefully up and inward to a narrow mouth with a squat rim. The lower portion contains a painted register of rectangular motifs, and the midsection is adorned with lovely vine and foliate patterns as well as blooming peonies. The shoulder below the rim has a stylized cloud collar motif. The rim is left unglazed, and the cobalt blue-on-white is a classic and striking presentation! Size: 7" W x 7.5" H (17.8 cm x 19 cm)
