East Asia, China, Qing Dynasty, ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE. A brightly-colored ceramic vase with a neck that looks deliberately crinkled. Two applied lions sit on the sides of the vessel, just below the neck. The body is painted with a profusion of birds, insects, flowers, and abstract motifs, with some applied gilded decoration. Size: 4.2" W x 9.2" H (10.7 cm x 23.4 cm)
