19th C. Chinese Qing Porcelain Vase w/ Ducks & Dragons
East Asia, China, Qing Dynasty, ca. 19th century CE. A large and elegant celadon glazed porcelain vase featuring appliques of dragons and ducks. The ovoid body rests on a tall foot, and the slightly ribbed walls swell outward. On each side is a white glazed rectangular panel with a raised border. Crouching above the panels on the shoulder and neck, are two pairs of applied dragons. Facing downward are two ducks, white with yellow tails and heads. The scalloped rim flares outward around the deep interior. The sea green of the celadon glaze imbues a calming ambiance to this beautiful vessel. Size: 10" W x 25" H (25.4 cm x 63.5 cm)
