19th C. Continental Marble Top Rococo Console

Continental, possibly Italian, 19th century. Redecorated giltwood and polychrome wall mounted console table in the rococo taste having a shaped, serpentine marble top, the conforming base with scrolled foliate apron, and rising on shell andfoliate carved legs with shell pad. Unmarked. Approx. h. 47", w. 45", d. 16.75".
Condition Report: Scattered chips to top; previous repairs; pleasing distressed wear to finish; traces of the previous gilded surface now covered by the current decoration; frame is stable.
