19th C. Indonesian Antler Dagger w/ Abstract Figure
Southeast Asia, Borneo, Dayak, Punan Tribe, ca. 19th century CE. A hand-carved deer antler dagger with an attached transverse iron blade. The antler is carved with an abstract figure in a reclining pose while holding the top projection of a zoomorph's head. Behind the figure is an abstract maskette, and the top half of the tool has developed honey-yellow patina. Size: 9" L x 3.75" W x 3.125" H (22.9 cm x 9.5 cm x 7.9 cm)
