19th C. Russian Enameled Silver Icon Pendant - 18.1 g

Eastern Europe, Russia, ca. 19th century CE. A lovely enameled silver icon pendant depicting the Crucifixion with four haloed onlookers below, each one identified in Cyrillic, a pair of angels flanking God the Father above, and the skull of Golgotha below. The imagery is delineated in repousse with wonderful enameled details in cobalt blue, aqua, kelly green, and golden yellow hues. An integral loop atop makes the pendant ready to wear on your favorite chain. Size: 1.625" W x 1.7" H (4.1 cm x 4.3 cm); 1.875" H (4.8 cm) including integral loop; silver quality: 93%; weight: 18.1 grams.

Provenance: private Dunn collection, Coral Springs, Florida, USA, acquired in the 1990s
