19th C. Venetian Red Glass Trade Bead Necklaces (pr)

Western Europe, Italy, Venice, ca. 19th century CE. A lovely pair of necklaces, each comprised of dozens of red glass trade beads known as "White Heart" or "Cornaline D'aleppo" or "Hudson Bay" beads due to their off-white core. All boasting a vibrant shade of crimson, each bead features a barrel or discoid form. Both necklaces are strung on modern strands to be wearable. Beautiful additions to any ensemble! Size (of longest necklace, both are similar in size): 15.5" L (39.4 cm); Size (of largest bead): 0.2" in diameter (0.5 cm)

Provenance: private Fayetteville, Arkansas, USA collection; ex-Dr. David Harner collection, Springdale, Arkansas, USA, acquired between the 1950s and 1960s
