19th Century African Congo Kuba Bwoom Helmet Mask

An African D.R.C. Congo Kuba Bwoom commoner crest helmet mask (19th / 20th Century) face has broad features and incised cross-hatched motif, the nose and and nostrils are beaded with bright blue beads, The coif and temples are finely decorated with blue bead designs, hammered copper bulbous protruding forehead with extensive beadwork and shells woven into the perimeter, top, and side flaps. The pendant beard beneath the face continues the motif of beads and shells. The forehead is hammered copper, strips of leather, and stripes of beads.
