19th Century Authentic Naga Tribal Head Hunter Warrior's Ceremonial Headdress.Woven rattan hat decorated with carved and incised shell secured by two yellow beads; 2 board tusks; and a black and brown dyed hair ring around the edge. Circa 1880. {Approximate dimensions: 5 1/4 high x 7 3/4 wide x 9 inches deep.}. Parallels: Similar pieces are illustrated in “The Nagas,” pps. 225 -226, and 232. Condition: Hair ring is detached. Some wear from use, no apparent loss or repairs.
