19th Century Black Forest Style Desk Set
DESCRIPTION: Carved, wooden Black Forest style desk set featuring a drawer and two glass inkwells. Frame of piece is wood painted black with low-arched feet, geometric designs throughout, and reticulated grapevine designs along the sides and the front of the drawer. Pewter grapevines on pewter boards adorn the piece at its corners and sides, embellish its reticulations, and compose the platform for the inkwells at the piece's crown. Finished with the bust of a bearded man between the two inkwells.
