19th Century Burmese Shwe Zawa style Manuscript Box
Ca. 19th century Burmese Manuscript box in Shwe Zawa style. The box is beautifully decorated with a traditional Burmese motif depicting nat spirits/temple guardians and sanskrit text (the language of Buddhist monks) in the traditional black and gold, shwe zawa gold gilt style.
The box would have been used to hold manuscripts at the temple.
