19th Century French Sevres Porcelain Box

DESCRIPTION: An antique Sevres porcelain & bronze vanity box with an oval lobed shape, decorated with a painted cobalt blue ground and hand painted decorative motifs, depicting floral garlands and a central scene on the lid that represents a classical female figure. The hand painted decorative motif is signed by artist Lefrane. The white interior is decorated with a bouquet of flowers in delicate colors such as soft pink, green, grey, red and blue. Marked with "Sevres hallmark with an S" and with a red "Chateau des Tuileries" Sevres palace hallmark on the underbase.
