19th Century Palawan Bamboo Quiver and 5 Darts. Bamboo body, carved wood handle, woven rattan wrapping; 4 blow gun darts are carved bamboo with cork termination on one end; the top of the quiver has encrusted tree sap. Red 'David Howard Tribal Art' sticker; '369A' catalogue number. Circa 1860. {Approximate dimensions: 19 1/4 inches high.}. Similar examples in "Ten Southeast Asian Tribes from Five Countries" by David Howard; pages, 126, 131, 135. Condition: Some surface wear, loose rattan bands. Overall wear is appropriate considering age and use.
