Carved Anglo-Indian or Burmese chair, mid to late 19th century, executed in rosewood, having an arched, pierce carved crest centering an oval reserve with a red squirrel framed by scrolling vines, birds, and berries, above an oval back and square seat, both upholstered in oxblood leather, the seat fronted by a pierce carved apron of berries and foliage, the whole rising on cabriole front legs with floral carved knees and hairy paw feet, 54"h x 27"w x 26"d; seat 21"h. Condition: Evidence of previous repair to the left front of the carved apron.
